Use Acorn drone frames to fight Varroa mites and raise superior queens. Drone frames are larger than worker cells, though not as large as queen cells. By installing a drone frame, you’ll have nothing but drone comb. This is a popular and effective way of trapping Varroa mites, which prefer laying in drone cells, as an Integrated Pest Management technique. Slot this frame in, take it out when it’s full of uncapped cells, scrape all the comb off as waste, and pop it back in. With its bright lime green color, there’s never a risk of extracting the wrong frame. When raising queens you can also use this Drone Frame to increase your drone populations.
