Features:
- Easily create a barrier by sliding in a metal divider
- Completely separate worker bees from the lower colony and the queen
- Designed for brood chambers with 10 frames
- Can also be used solely as a queen excluder
Use: To use the cloak board for queen rearing, simply slide the metal divider into the queen excluder part of the board while the queen is in the lower hive body. This will cut off the worker bees from their queen and encourage them to prepare for a new queen. Once they're ready to replace the existing queen, use a grafting tool to insert the larvae, which will provide candidates for new potential queens. We recommend using our JZs BZs queen cell cups to hold the larvae for easier grafting. With the worker bees under the assumption that they must replace their queen, there's a greater chance the grafted larva will be accepted. After about 24 hours, remove the divider to keep the existing queen separated from the worker bees while the grafted queens are incubated. Note that using this product requires knowledge in grafting larvae.
