How it works

Each frame is already glued and nailed into a rigid rectangle with a sheet of Acorn foundation locked into the grooved top and bottom bars. Hang ten in a standard 10-frame medium box (or use what an 8-frame box holds) and you're done — the heavy wax coat gets bees drawing comb quickly, often within days during a flow. Mediums are the go-to for honey supers and for beekeepers running all-medium hives to keep boxes light and equipment interchangeable. The plastic core spins cleanly in radial and tangential extractors at harvest.
