Our complete 10-frame brood chamber kit arrives fully assembled. All you need to do is add paint and a package of bees, and you’re ready to go. This kit includes the following items, listed from the bottom to the top of the hive:

• 10-frame brood chamber
• 10 wooden frames
• Acorn HEAVY WAXED PLASTIC Foundation.

The brood chamber is where you will house your bee colony. It is important that your brood chamber is durable, and ours are made with select-grade Southern yellow pine. Our wooden frames are also select grade and include Acorn’s heavy-waxed plastic foundation, which is the industry leader. Acorn plastic beeswax foundation is the best foundation available. Your bees will use it as a foundation on which to build honeycomb, and Acorn’s heavy waxing technique means that they will accept it immediately. Our foundation comes in black or white, depending on your preference. We do recommend the black, as its contrast with larvae makes them much easier to spot.
