Ross Round Honeycomb Super Kits
The Ross Round comb honey super kit is the simplest way to produce picture-perfect round comb honey — the premium, ready-to-sell sections that need no extracting. Each kit arrives fully assembled: set it on a strong hive during a good flow, and the bees draw comb right into the round rings. When a section caps over, you pop it out, snap a cover on each side, label it, and it's ready to sell.
Features
- Fully assembled and ready to put on the hive
- Special 4-1/2" tall super to minimize burr comb
- Choose 8-frame (7 frames, 56 rings — 28 sections) or 10-frame (8 frames, 64 rings — 32 sections)
- Two-piece frames snap around foundation; each half holds four rings that become finished sections
- No extracting equipment needed — sections sell as-is
- Compatible with Ross Round and Ceracell round comb supplies
How it works
Each frame is built from two halves that snap together, and every half holds four rings. Snap the halves around a sheet of thin surplus foundation and the bees draw comb through the rings. When a section is capped, the two rings lift out as one finished round of comb — cap it top and bottom with section covers, add a label, and it's shelf-ready. The frames sit under gentle tension from the super's springs and follower board so the comb draws evenly.
Before you order
- Pick your size to match your equipment: 8-frame or 10-frame.
- You'll also need thin foundation — we recommend 3-7/8" thin surplus; each super takes 8 sheets.
- Sold separately: section covers (opaque or crystal) and labels to finish and seal each round.
- Best results come from a strong colony during a solid nectar flow.

FAQ
Is it assembled?
Yes — the kit comes fully assembled and ready for the hive.
What's the difference between 8-frame and 10-frame?
The 8-frame super holds 7 frames (56 rings, ~28 sections); the 10-frame holds 8 frames (64 rings, ~32 sections). Match it to your hive equipment.
What else do I need?
Thin surplus foundation (8 sheets per super), plus section covers and labels to finish the rounds — all sold separately.
Do I need to extract?
No. Round comb sells in the comb — pop the section out, cover, label, and sell.
When should I put it on?
During a strong nectar flow with a populous colony, for the cleanest, fastest-drawn comb.
