These NUCs are raised locally in South Carolina and ideal for beginner or experienced beekeepers looking to start or expand their colonies.

Pickup Schedule (Subject to Change)

These dates are estimates and may shift due to weather or colony development. Please plan accordingly.

• First Pickup: April 11–12, 2025 (2nd week of April)
• Second Pickup: April 25–26, 2025 (4th week of April)

2025 NUC Price: $185.00 each
Full payment is required before pickup.

What Is a NUC?

A NUC (nucleus colony) is a small, starter beehive. Our NUCs include 5 standard deep frames (9 1/8") inside a temporary transport box. These are not packages of bees — they are more established and include a queen already laying brood.

Returns & Cancellations

Cancellation Fee: $50 per NUC.
No exceptions.

Pickup Policy & Preparation

• Please bring back the transport box if you don’t need it — we reuse them for our bee removal service.
• Have your hive equipment ready before pickup day to minimize wait times.
• Transfer your bees the same day you pick them up. Do not leave them in the NUC box for more than 2 days to avoid swarming.
• We will send detailed pickup instructions via email about one week before your scheduled date.

Club & Group Orders

If you're part of a beekeeping club or organization and plan to order in bulk, contact us. We may be able to arrange delivery for large group purchases.

Confirmation & Communication

You will receive an order confirmation via email within 5 minutes of placing your order. Please keep this email — it contains important pickup details.

FAQs

What’s the difference between a NUC and a package of bees?

A NUC is a small, established colony with frames, brood, and a laying queen. A package contains loose bees and a caged queen — no frames or brood included.

Can I cancel my order if plans change?

Yes, but a $50 per NUC cancellation fee applies. No exceptions.

When will I know my exact pickup date?

We’ll email you 1–2 weeks before your bees are ready with final details and directions.

Can I leave the bees in the NUC box?

No. Please transfer your bees into your hive within 24–48 hours of pickup to prevent swarming.

Do you ship NUCs?

No. NUCs are available for local pickup only in Blythewood, SC.
