Small Turkish Hive Tool

I had complained in the past that the image for the large turkish hive tool was really the image for the small turkish hive tool. Now it seems that they have the photo of the large turkish hive tool shown for both items.

If you leave out the bottle opener portion and shorten the handle a bit, you have the small turkish hive tool.

But having both and using them for two seasons, I'd say that the large turkish hive tool is better. due to the ability to use the offset bottle opener portion to pry frames apart.

The tools are good quality. It’s to cold here in Colorado to use just yet.

Looks good can't wait to use it.

I like the compact size and the notches work perfectly for lifting up frames. The notches seem to provide more surface area against adjacent frames, and it does less damage to the frames the the j-hook style lifters that don't have the notches.

This tool is also easy to hold in your hand while inspecting the frames if you don't have to have to put the tool down first.

The steel used is magnetic, so I am able to use a magnet to hold it in place on the side of my hive stands which keeps it convenient for use.

The only thing lacking on this hive tool is a bump out on the scraper end like the large turkish hive tool that allows you to get leverage between frames to first break the propolis apart before lifting them up.

I really like the J-Hook Mini too, if this small turkish hive tool had the same bump out at the scraper end as the J-hook mini then it would win hands down. This one is a little larger than the j-hook mini.
