Hive Beetle Trap Oil - 8oz Bottle
Our hive beetle trap oil gives beekeepers a simple, specially blended food-grade oil that turns any beetle trap into a one-way trip: small hive beetles climb in, hit the oil, and drown before they can damage comb, brood, or stored honey.
Features
- Specially blended food-grade oil — safe to use inside an active hive
- 8 oz squeeze bottle — refills many traps and lasts through the season
- Flip-top cap for clean, controlled pouring and secure storage
- Works with Cutt’s Beetle Blasters, Beetle Jails, and most in-hive beetle traps
How it works in the hive
Small hive beetles hide in the cracks and corners of a colony where the bees can’t reach them. An oil-filled trap gives the bees an ally: they chase and corral the beetles into the trap, and once a beetle drops into the oil it can’t climb back out. Refilling your traps with fresh oil keeps them working through the warm months, when beetle pressure is highest.

FAQ
What kind of oil is in the bottle?
A specially blended, food-grade oil — chosen so it’s safe to use inside an active hive while still trapping and drowning small hive beetles.
Which traps does it work with?
Any in-hive oil trap, including Cutt’s Beetle Blasters, Beetle Jails, and Beetle Barns. Pour the oil into the trap’s reservoir following that trap’s instructions.
How long does one bottle last?
It depends on how many traps you run and how often you refill them, but the 8 oz bottle refills multiple traps and typically lasts well into the season.
Will the oil harm my bees?
Used as directed — inside the trap reservoir only — the oil stays contained in the trap. The bees herd the beetles in; they don’t bathe in the oil themselves.
