8 Frame Brood Chamber Kit ASSEMBLED
A fully assembled 8-frame deep brood chamber — the heart of the hive, where the queen lays and the colony raises its young. It arrives built with frames and foundation in place, so all you do is paint the outside, add bees, and you're keeping bees. The 8-frame size is lighter to handle than a 10-frame, a popular choice for beekeepers who want easier lifting.
What's included
- One 8-frame deep brood chamber box, select-grade pine, fully assembled
- 8 wooden frames, assembled and installed
- Premier Purecell double-waxed plastic foundation — your choice of black or white at checkout
How it works in real life
The brood chamber is the bottom box of a Langstroth hive and the colony's home base. The queen lays her eggs across these deep frames, and the bees store the pollen and honey they need day to day. The included foundation gives the bees a straight, even base to draw comb on. Because the box ships assembled with frames and foundation installed, you skip the build: paint the exterior (leave the inside bare), let it cure, set it on a bottom board, and install your bees.
Before you order
This is the 8-frame size — pair it with an 8-frame honey super, bottom board, and cover to complete the hive. The foundation is Premier Purecell double-waxed plastic, which bees accept readily. Black foundation makes pale eggs and larvae much easier to spot during inspections, so we recommend black for most beekeepers. The kit ships unpainted and does not include bees.
Pairs Well With
- 8 Frame Honey Super Kit (Assembled) — add honey storage above the brood
- Premier Purecell Foundation — spare double-waxed plastic foundation

Frequently Asked Questions
Is it really fully assembled?
Yes. The box, frames, and foundation arrive built and installed — you only need to paint the outside and add your bees.
Should I choose black or white foundation?
Both are Premier Purecell double-waxed plastic. Black makes eggs and larvae easier to spot during inspections; white looks cleaner under pale comb. Most beekeepers choose black for the brood nest.
Does it include bees?
No — this is equipment only. Add your own package, nuc, or swarm.
What hive does it fit?
Standard 8-frame Langstroth equipment.
