Two small plastic tubs side-by-side in a wooden support rim, sized for 5-frame nuc boxes — 1.3 gallons of syrup total, with Ceracell's patented corner access design. The 5-frame is the only size without a center chimney; access is via the four corners only.

How it works

Assemble the wooden rim, set it on top of your 5-frame nuc box, and drop the two plastic tubs into it side by side. Pour up to 1.3 gallons of 1:1 syrup across both tubs. Bees climb up through the four corner access points, drink, and return safely. For dry feeding, you can leave the corner caps off and let bees range across the surface; add a damp sponge if feeding dry white sugar.

FAQ

Why doesn't this size have a center chimney? Ceracell's 5-frame design is built around corner access only — the nuc box footprint doesn't accommodate a center chimney between the tubs.

Will this fit an 8 or 10-frame hive? No — sized for 5-frame nucs only.

Do I need to buy the center cap? No — there's no center chimney on this size, so you only need corner caps (included).

Smart Design

Smart. Can feed a nuc with sugar syrup or solids like fondant, pollen patties, or dry sugar. Since it has 2 separate sides you can pick combinations to feed.

The 5 frame Ceracell is terrible I have a 10 frame, and it is fine but this one you can’t even fit the top cover on now I have a piece of junk

5 frame feeder feedback

My only criticism is the width of the feeder
It is a little wider than the standard 5 frame nuc box
With a little ingenuity it worked

The quality was good and the bee drowning was minimal

I Would recommend but also suggest buying outer cover that will accommodate the extra width

Didn’t fit my NUCs

I ordered two of these feeders, and neither fit my NUC woodware out of the box (ordered from BetterBee). I had to use a table saw to cut the feeder down to size - but otherwise seems to work much better than the style of feeder that relies on floats to keep bees from drowning.

Not set up for signature acceptance of delivery. Delivery drop off is a key feature for ordering online. Very disappointed.

Great design, but some adaptations were needed.

This is a sturdy, well designed feeder. However, its width is slightly larger than my nuc boxes. My telescoping cover could not be used with the feeder. I assume that had I purchased my nuc from Blythewood everything would fit together. There are no handholds on the feeder box. That would also be a helpful addition.
