Ceracell 8 Frame Top Feeder with Wooden Rim (1.98 Gallon)

A ton of drowned bees. Not sure why.

I love this product.
I prefer internal / covered feeders as opposed to external feeding jars and this is the best I have used.
Yes you can cut a board put a screen on it and poke holes in a jar but your still going out every day to refill.
This, this takes it to a whole new level and well worth the price. Arriving mostly assembled. You just snap the corners and center pieces together and you are ready to go.
The holding tank allows my hive 5 days between refills. in 40 / 50 degree weather. This may be different for you.
I also like that you can see the bees working it through the transparent colored corner tabs & center.
I have not had any bee deaths related to this product. I do however have a piss ant problem as they have found a way into the feeder. (they are now floaters). And I have not removed the tabs as they are so secure, I am afraid of breaking them. Any suggestions on that would be greatly appreciated.

Cool feeder, can't wait to set it up!

It is so simple to use this feeder. Put it on top of your hive bodies, put in either sugar water or solid feed and you're done. To fill, remove the outer cover, feed and you're done. SIMPLE!

Ceracell top feeder is clearly a high quality feeder, I have two other brands from two other major suppliers, and these have quickly become my preferred feeder

Hundreds of my bees drowned in my feeder, the chimney top doesn’t lock in place. I used a dense feed (commercial syrup). I suppose the lid "floated?" and the bees pushed through and drowned; I mean by the hundreds. The chimney cap should have the same "lock in place" mechanism as the corner lids which snap in place with a “click”. Im angry/sad since my bees might not make it through the winter with such a decrease in numbers.

I had to go out of town, and my daughter who has no experience with bees, was able to easily feed them without a problem. This feeder is very convenient and allows feeding without disturbing the hive. It not only holds liquid feed, but also sugar or fondant for cold winter months. I really like this feeder!

Love the fact that you can fill the feeders without getting a face full of bees! Easy to keep clean! Now if it would just kill varroa and SHB!!

The top feeder by ceracell is by far one of the best feeders available. It virtually eliminates drowning. The only downfall would be if u are a hands on keeper lifting the full feeder on and off the top of hive. Other than that it is able to hold liquid or dry feed and has made a real difference in the amount of comb new packages can build.

Ceracell 8 Frame Top Feeder

These two Ceracell feeders bring my inventory to eight. These are excellent feeders. Bees do not drown and they can consume all of the sugar water even if the hive is tilted.

We love this feeder. We bought two, one for our 8 frame and one for our 10 frame polystyrene hive. Works great on both hives. Our bee's seem to really like it too.

Absolutely the best hive top feeder I have found on the market.

Just started using these this fall. So far so good, the bees are coming up into all 5 entrances and they are able to take in syrup quite quickly. They can reach every drop of the syrup with the access points at the corners. I did see one drowned bee at a corner access point so far. Overall I am happy with this purchase and would recommend this feeder.

I replaced my previous wood w/ slatted floats top feeder with the Ceracell. I was a little doubtful - but the bees LOVE it!! They can feed easily, don’t drown, don’t have any where or reason to build burr comb - and they are happy! No cranky, fussy behavior - just happy ‘smily’ faces! Thanks for a brilliant design & product.

Love the product. Great concept. The frames are sized a little more narrow than my hives, so there's a little lip exposed, but it doesn't seem to be too much of an issue. One setup though (we bought 4) the chimney cap seems to sit higher than it should and it won't let the cover rest flat. That's an issue bc then the bees can get in and out, from both inside the hive and out. Otherwise though, pretty solid.

Before buying this I had previously bought hive top feeders consisting of two bins with a screen covered central portion that had openings for the bees. It made sense that this would keep the bees safe. Unfortunately, it is necessary to keep the bins over half full, or the bees will get around the edges of the screens and drown.
All that is to say that I have seen NO drowned bees in the Ceracell feeders. None. In addition, the Ceracell feeder doesn't seem to violate beespace, so the bees aren't building comb up into the spaces in the feeder.
I've been 95% satisfied with the Ceracell feeder. I only wish that it came with handles or cleats so you could maneuver a full feeder more easily.

Very happy with the design and function of the Ceracell feeder. It's easy to fill, easy to clean, it does not harm the bees and they don't build any comb underneath the feeder. It works perfectly- just as advertised!

These are great. Easy, not messy. Much better than front feeders that was using.

Well built...bees can’t get in and drown...easy to clean…Very satisfied with the 5 we own. Will replace current screen style top feeders eventually with more of them.

Bees love these top feeders. They draw comb out in a second when these are on the hives. Unfortunately one of the five tubs was damaged in transit. But the replacement came immediately. This is a great product sold by awesome people.
