Ceracell Queen Rearing Kit | Blythewood Bee Company
The Ceracell Queen Rearing Kit gives a new beekeeper everything needed to start grafting and raising queens, in one box. You mount the cell-bar frames in a cell-builder colony, graft young larvae into the cups, and let the bees draw and feed queen cells.
Features
- Four wooden cell-bar frames with aluminum mounting bars
- 80 Buzzco queen cell cups
- Two grafting tools
- Queen-rearing timing dial
- Step-by-step guide to raising queens
How it works (in real life)
Pick a strong, queenless cell-builder colony to do the feeding. Graft day-old larvae from a colony with the traits you want into the cell cups, snap the cups onto the aluminum cell bars, and hang the frames in the cell builder. The bees draw the cups out into queen cells and feed the larvae royal jelly. Use the timing dial to track when cells are capped and when they'll be ready to move to mating colonies or to requeen.
Before you order
The kit is the equipment for grafting and raising cells. You supply the bees: a cell-builder colony to draw and feed the cells, and colonies or mating nucs to receive the finished queen cells.

FAQ
Do I need a separate colony to use this kit?
Yes. You graft into the cups and mount them in a cell-builder colony, which draws and feeds the queen cells. The kit does not include bees.
How many cells can I start at once?
The kit comes with 80 queen cell cups and four cell-bar frames, so you can set up multiple bars of cells in a single round.
Is this suitable for a beginner?
Yes. It includes a step-by-step guide and a timing dial, and is intended for beginner and sideline beekeepers raising their own queens.
What are the cell cups made of?
They are Buzzco plastic queen cell cups that snap onto the aluminum cell bars.
