Crimp Wire Beeswax Foundation
Crimp wire beeswax foundation gives a colony a straight, sturdy starting point for clean, evenly drawn comb. Each sheet carries vertical crimped wire set through the wax, reinforcing the foundation as the bees draw it out and helping the finished comb stand up to inspection and extraction.
Pick the depth that matches your equipment:
- Deep — for deep brood frames, where the queen lays and the colony rears brood.
- Medium — the all-purpose depth for medium frames used as brood boxes or honey supers.
- Shallow — for shallow honey supers.
Pack sizes range from a 10-sheet pack for a few frames up to bulk boxes for outfitting a whole apiary. Choose your depth and pack size above.
The foundation drops into standard wooden frames. For the strongest hold, run horizontal frame wires and bond them into the wax with a spur wire embedder so the comb won’t sag or blow out in the extractor.
Prefer a one-piece sheet with no wiring or embedding? Our Acorn plastic foundation is a low-maintenance alternative.
