How it works
Pack the smoker with dry fuel — knitted cotton smoker circles, pine needles, burlap, or wood pellets — over a small ember, then pump the bellow steadily to build airflow. The perforated grate lifts fuel above the bellow intake so smoke can breathe and feed the fire. Once smoldering, slow pumps deliver controlled puffs of cool white smoke at the spout. The heat shield cage lets you grip the body to direct smoke precisely without burning your hand.
Before you order
- The 7" is right for hobbyists with 1–5 hives — smaller chamber, less fuel per session, lighter in the hand.
- The 10" holds more fuel for longer burns — best for 5+ hives or extended yard visits where you don't want to repack mid-session.
- Both sizes use the same 4" diameter, so replacement bellows and grates are cross-compatible.
- Replacement parts are stocked separately — when the vinyl bellow wears after 3–5 seasons, swap the part instead of replacing the smoker.

FAQ
7" or 10" — which should I get?
For 1–5 hives, the 7" holds plenty of fuel for a normal yard visit and is lighter in the hand. If you run more than 5 hives or do long sessions, the 10" lets you pack more fuel and skip the refill mid-inspection.
What fuel works best?
Dry, fibrous material — knitted cotton smoker circles, pine needles, dry burlap, or wood pellets all work well. Avoid green wood or anything damp; you want a clean, cool, white smoke that calms bees rather than agitating them.
Why is there a cage around the barrel?
That's the protective heat shield. The barrel gets very hot during use; the cage lets you grip and direct the smoker without burning your hand, and gives a stable base when you set it down.
How long does the bellow last?
With normal use, expect 3–5 seasons before the vinyl bellow needs replacing. When it does, we stock both leatherette and yellow plastic replacement bellows so you don't have to buy a whole new smoker.
