Pail Perch Metal
A metal stand that tips a 5-gallon honey bucket forward so the last gallon flows toward the gate instead of pooling in the back corner. The simplest piece of bottling equipment in your shop — solves the universal problem of trying to drain the bottom of a bucket without lifting and tilting it by hand.
Features
- Solid metal construction — holds a full 5-gallon bucket without bowing
- Compact footprint — fits on a workbench, table, or floor
- Tilts the bucket forward to drain honey toward the gate
- Works with any standard 5-gallon bucket or pail
- No assembly — ready to use out of the box
How it works in real life
Set the perch on your bottling surface and place a 5-gallon honey bucket on it. The bucket tilts forward at a slight angle so honey naturally flows toward the gate (or pouring side) as the level drops. Without a perch, the last gallon or so pools in the back corner of the bucket and either gets wasted or requires you to lift and tilt the bucket by hand — at 60+ pounds full, that's a back injury waiting to happen. With the perch, gravity does the work. This is one of those tools that's easy to dismiss until you've bottled five-gallon batches and realized how much honey you were leaving behind.
Before you order
Designed for standard 5-gallon HDPE buckets. The perch is metal and built to hold a full bucket (60+ pounds of honey), but it works just as well with empty or partially-full buckets if you're working through a batch. If you bottle anything more than a few jars per session, this perch pays for itself in saved honey within the first season.

- 5-Gallon Honey Bucket with Gate — pre-built bottling bucket pairs with the perch

- 5 Gallon Bucket Lid Tool — for opening sealed lids without damage

Frequently Asked Questions
Why do I need a perch at all?
The last gallon of honey in a 5-gallon bucket pools at the bottom and doesn't flow toward the gate. Without a perch, you either waste that honey or lift the heavy bucket by hand to tip it. With a perch, gravity drains the bucket cleanly. Beekeepers who bottle in volume save real money over a season.
Will it hold a full 60-pound bucket?
Yes. The metal construction is rated for full 5-gallon buckets of honey (roughly 60+ pounds). Don't overload it with multiple buckets stacked on top.
Does it work with any bucket?
Standard 5-gallon HDPE buckets — yes. Buckets with unusual shapes or sizes may not sit properly. The perch is designed for the round HDPE buckets that are standard in the honey industry.
Can I use it with the bucket-with-gate combo?
Yes — that's actually its most common use. The bucket-with-gate's gate is positioned for use with a perch, since the perch tilts the bucket so honey drains toward the gate.
