Rapid Round Bee Feeder – White (1/2 Gallon)
A flat, round 1/2-gallon top feeder that sits inside a shallow super above the inner cover. Bees feed up through the center cap from below, drink from a controlled access channel under a clear protective lid, and return to the cluster without ever leaving the hive.
Features
- 1/2 US gallon (~1.9 L) syrup capacity
- Clear center cap lets bees access syrup through a narrow channel — sharply reduces drowning risk
- Sits flat in a shallow 8- or 10-frame super above the inner cover
- Refill without disturbing the cluster — just lift the outer cover and shallow super
- Works for liquid syrup, dry sugar, pollen, or water in warmer months
- Lightweight plastic, easy to clean and store between seasons
How it works
Set your hive up with a shallow super placed on top of the inner cover. Drop the Rapid Round feeder onto the inner cover so the central feeding cap aligns with the inner cover hole — bees climb up through the inner cover hole, walk under the clear access cap, and drink from a thin ring of syrup around the perimeter. Fill the reservoir with up to 1/2 gallon of 1:1 (spring) or 2:1 (fall) syrup. To refill, lift the outer cover and shallow super together, top off, and replace — no smoke needed, no exposed bees. For dry sugar or pollen, fill the reservoir directly; the clear cap still controls access.
Before you order
- Requires a shallow super (8 or 10-frame) above your inner cover for the feeder to sit inside
- 1/2 gallon capacity — best for small to medium colonies; for larger colonies or longer feeding intervals see the Ceracell 10-frame top feeder (2.25 gallon) or Apimaye Dual Feeder (1 gallon syrup + fondant)
- Plastic construction — keep out of direct sun for longest life
- For winter feeding, use dry sugar or fondant; liquid syrup not recommended below 50°F
Pairs well with
- Ceracell 10 Frame Top Feeder with Wooden Rim — higher 2.25 gal capacity for strong colonies
- Apimaye 10 Frame Dual Feeder — adds simultaneous fondant feeding
- Stainless Steel Feeder Jar Lid — rust-proof alternative for jar-style feeders
- Bee Lively Pollen Patty with Beekeepers Choice Feeding Stimulant — protein supplement for spring buildup

FAQ
Do I need a special super to use this feeder? Yes — a shallow 8 or 10-frame super houses the feeder above your inner cover. The shallow super gives the feeder room and lets you reuse your existing outer cover on top.
Can I feed dry sugar? Yes — fill the reservoir with dry sugar. Add a damp sponge if feeding plain white sugar to give bees moisture.
Will it work in winter? Use dry sugar or fondant in winter, not liquid syrup. Liquid will freeze or crystallize below 50°F and bees may not break cluster to access it.
How long does 1/2 gallon last a colony? Highly variable — a strong colony in active spring buildup may finish 1/2 gallon in 2–4 days; a slow nuc may take 1–2 weeks.
