One of the issue beekeepers have when moving hives it the weight of the hive and the difficulty lifting a beehive that is full of honey. A honey super that is full of honey weights about 45 pounds. Standard Langstroth beehives typically have "cut out" handle in the wood that are about a 1/2 in inch deep. This gives you just enough of a handle to lift with your finger tips. This is really rough on the hands especially as you get older and hive issues gripping the weight of these boxes.
