Wood Pulp Honeybee Swarm Trap
The Wood Pulp Honeybee Swarm Trap is a lightweight bait hive made from water-resistant wood pulp. Hung along a woodline, it gives a passing swarm a cavity to move into so you can capture wild bees and start a new colony.
Features
- Made from durable, water-resistant wood pulp
- Lightweight at approximately 5 lbs
- Dimensions: 16 × 16 × 16 in
- Single entrance hole at the end of the bucket
- Designed for use with Swarm Commander lures or crush vials
- Bucket detaches from the base for retrieval
How it works (in real life)
- Hang the trap 8–10 feet off the ground, preferably along a woodline.
- Add a Swarm Commander lure or crush vial to draw scout bees.
- Bees enter through the hole at the end of the bucket. A captured swarm forms a seal and may begin drawing comb.
- When you're ready to retrieve the bees, detach the bucket from the base and move them into your hive.
Before you order
- Lure (Swarm Commander spray, gel, or crush vial) sold separately.
- Check the trap regularly during swarm season so you can rehive a captured swarm promptly.
Pairs Well With
