Buzz Bag — Nuc & Package Mesh Transport Bag
A rip-resistant mesh transport bag for moving a 5 frame nucleus hive or up to three packages of bees safely between locations. Zippered closure means no loose bees in the truck cab on the way home.

How it works (in real life)
Lay the bag flat on the ground, place the nuc box or stack of packages on the open zipper line, then pull the bag up and around the equipment and zip it closed. The gusset means the bag actually fits the rectangular shape of a hive — you're not wrestling a round sack onto a square box. Once zipped, you've got a sealed mesh enclosure that lets the bees breathe but contains any stragglers, foragers that came home late, or a queen that escapes her cage in transit.
Most beekeepers use this on the drive home from a nuc pickup or package delivery. It also works for short relocations between yards, swarm captures where you want to contain bees before transferring to a hive, and as a containment layer over a problem hive during an emergency move.
Before you order
- This is the nuc/package size — fits 5 frame equipment or up to 3 bee packages. For full 8 or 10 frame hives, you need a larger Buzz Bag size, which we do not currently stock.
- Mesh is breathable but not weatherproof. For an extended drive in heavy rain, plan for protection from above.
- This is a transport tool, not long-term housing. Get the bees out of the bag and into proper equipment as soon as you can after arrival.

FAQ
Will this fit a 10 frame hive?
No. This is the nuc/package size. The manufacturer makes larger Buzz Bag sizes for full hives, but we do not currently stock those — contact us if you need a larger one.
Can the bees see out and breathe?
Yes. The mesh is breathable and ventilated. Bees can see out, get fresh air, and stay calm. The mesh just keeps them inside.
Is it reusable?
Yes. With reasonable care — don't let it sit wet, don't snag it on sharp edges — you'll get many trips out of one bag.
What if I'm transporting a queen cage with the package?
Same bag works. Many beekeepers prefer the zippered closure specifically because it contains a queen who escapes her travel cage en route.
