How it works (in real life)

A fume board is a hive-top cover with an absorbent pad on the underside. On a warm, sunny day, set the board in the sun for a few minutes so the dark top heats up, then apply a light coat of Honey B Gone® to the pad — a bead around the perimeter and an "X" through the center is plenty. Pull the hive's outer and inner covers, set the fume board pad-side down on the super you want to clear, and wait 5–10 minutes while the scent drives the bees down into the brood box. Lift the cleared super, brush back any stragglers, and repeat for the next super, reapplying as needed.

How does it work?
