Universal Queen Cage Holder
The Universal Queen Cage Holder keeps a queen cage exactly where you want it during installation, splits, and requeening — so the cage can't slip down into the hive or tip over while the colony releases the queen. The injection-molded plastic body holds a range of cage styles and keeps the candy plug-hole clear, so the bees can chew through and free the queen on their own schedule.
Features
- Holds a range of queen cage styles — JZ-BZ, California Mini, 3-hole, and roller cages
- Keeps the candy plug-hole clear for a natural release
- Injection-molded plastic — sturdy and reusable season after season
- Minimizes the risk of the cage falling into the hive
- Works for package installs, splits, and requeening
How it works
Set your queen cage into the holder and position it between the top bars of two frames. The holder grips the cage so it stays put through the days it takes the bees to accept the queen, while the open candy-plug end lets the workers chew through and release her gradually. Once she's out, pull the holder, clean it, and set it aside for next time.
