Alliance Unassembled Beehive Frames
These unassembled bee frames give you bare, ready-to-build wooden frames for standard Langstroth hives — the grooved frames that hold your foundation. Each frame is milled from kiln-dried radiata pine and machined to a uniform profile, with a grooved top bar and grooved bottom bar so a sheet of plastic or wax foundation drops straight in. Available in deep (9 1/8") and medium (6 1/4"), in singles, 10-packs, and 100-packs, these Alliance beehive frames ship flat and assemble quickly with nails or staples and glue.
Features
- Kiln-dried radiata pine — dried to 12% moisture and grain-aligned for strength, so frames stay straight and resist warping.
- Precision-machined profiles — uniform parts that line up and nail square every time.
- Grooved top and bottom bars — take wired wax or plastic foundation, your choice, with no extra fitting.
- Pre-drilled end bars — run support wire or foundation pins to lock the comb in place.
- Built for the extractor — rigid frames hold true through spin after spin and fit standard extractors.
- Two sizes, packs to match your operation — deep (9 1/8") for brood boxes, medium (6 1/4") for honey supers; single, 10-pack, or 100-pack.
How it works
The frames arrive unassembled — four parts per frame (top bar, two end bars, bottom bar). Glue and nail or staple them into a rigid rectangle, then slide a sheet of foundation into the grooved top and bottom bars. For extra support with wax foundation, thread wire through the end-bar holes or set foundation pins before the comb is drawn. Finished frames hang in any standard 10-frame or 8-frame Langstroth box and stand up to repeated extraction, season after season.
Before you order
- Pick your size: deep (9 1/8") for brood chambers; medium (6 1/4") for honey supers. Match the frame depth to your box depth.
- Pick your pack: a single frame to try, a 10-pack for a box, or a 100-pack to set up a yard.
- Foundation not included: these are wooden frames only. They take standard grooved-frame foundation — we recommend white or black Acorn triple-waxed plastic foundation.
- Assembly required: frames ship flat; you supply glue and nails or staples.
Pairs Well With
- Acorn Plastic Foundation — the grooved-frame foundation that snaps into these frames, in deep and medium.
- Metal Foundation Support Pins — lock foundation into the end-bar holes so it cannot sag.
- 10 Frame Beehive Woodenware — the unassembled hive body these frames hang in.
- Wooden Handle Frame Grip — lift finished frames cleanly during inspections.
- Stainless Steel J-Hook Hive Tool — pry and lift frames without crushing bees.

FAQ
What are the frames made of? Kiln-dried radiata pine, dried to about 12% moisture and grain-aligned so the frames stay straight and hold up in the hive and the extractor.
Are these frames assembled? No. They ship flat as four parts per frame and assemble with glue and nails or staples.
What foundation fits these frames? Any standard foundation made for grooved frames — wired wax or plastic. White or black Acorn triple-waxed plastic foundation drops right into the grooved bars.
Do I need to wire them? Not with plastic foundation. With wax foundation, running wire through the end-bar holes (or adding foundation pins) helps the comb hold up during extraction.
Deep or medium — which do I need? Use deep (9 1/8") in brood boxes and medium (6 1/4") in honey supers, matching the depth of your woodenware.
Will they fit an 8-frame and 10-frame hive? Yes. Standard Langstroth frames hang in both 8-frame and 10-frame boxes; just use the number of frames the box holds.
