Queen Marking Tube
The queen marking tube holds the queen still against a screen so you can mark her thorax safely with a paint pen. Clear plastic lets you see her the whole time; a soft plunger pushes up from below and pins her gently against the screened top, where the open mesh gives the pen access without touching her wings or legs.
Features
- Clear plastic tube — watch the queen as you work
- Screened end for pen access
- Soft sponge plunger holds her without pressure
- Marking pen not included
How to mark a queen
Coax or drop the queen into the tube, then raise the plunger until she is held lightly against the screen. Touch a small dot of marking paint to the top of her thorax through the mesh, let it dry a moment, then release her back onto the frame. The dot makes her easy to spot, and the color tells you the year she was introduced.

- Posca Queen Marking Pen — the paint pen for the dot (sold separately)
- Stainless Queen Clip — catch her first
